School is out for the summer! The sun is out and now is the time for all of the exciting outdoor family activities! Some parents struggle to get their kids motivated to break away from the screen and put on the sunscreen instead. Here is a list of some fun summer activities that could help get your kids some free vitamin D and help to create some long-lasting family memories.
Take the kiddos to your local Farmer’s Market.
Take it easy with a Back Yard Campout! Make it even more exciting with S’mores, movies and catching fireflies! https://exploringnewsights.com/backyard-camping/
Ready to get out of house and the yard? Head to the Zoo! https://denverzoo.org
Or take the family tubing down the river! https://www.fcgov.com/parks/poudre-river-park
Feeling like a project? Build a fort or treehouse... or sell some lemonade for a little spending money!
For some fun in the yard or at the pool, try using water balloons as baseballs, create a fun time capsule or throw a pool (or sprinkler) party --- all of which could all serve as effective ways to tear the kids away from their screens!
Take the kids to the park or on a hike! A nature scavenger hunt can provide entertainment while exploring the mountains. Build a kite and go take it for a flight! A picnic with all of the fixings can be a fun way to eat lunch outside!
These are just a few ideas on how to keep the family engaged this summer! Memories are precious young or old and they are best done together as a family!
