My Big Day is a BIG fan of supporting local --- and breweries are included! Often our clients ask us about venues that allow you to bring your own alcohol. You have also asked us about breweries offering kegs to go. Well, here you go... we are happy to share some of our favorite breweries with to-go kegs for your mobile bar service. Check out this list of Northern Colorado breweries to source your party kegs. We suggest reaching out to any brewery in advance to place your order, to avoid shortages and sell-outs. Loveland, Colorado February 2, 2016 – In its third year, My Big Date represents three outings on Valentine’s Day weekend in Loveland, Colorado including a brunch and brew tours and spirits tours. The Brunch & Brew tours featured a brunch at Loveland, Colorado’s award-winning Grimm Brother’s Brewhouse. Catering will be provided by Taste, a Loveland-based catering company owned and operated by Vicky Bittner. Bittner sat down with the brewers at Grimm Brothers Brewhouse to create a special four-course Valentine’s Day brunch menu for My Big Date. The first course is a fresh fruit streusel served with The Pack of Scoundrels, a German style beer that originated in Hannover, Germany in 1526. It’s a crisp, light malt beer with a bouquet of spices. The second course features a wild mushroom Parmesan polenta with prosciutto benedict covered in a green chili hollandaise with balsamic reduction. This rich dish will be served with Liquid Zoo, a Weizenbock style beer that’s big and malty with some Hefeweizen characteristics of clove and banana. Things will get spicy during the third course that features hash brown potatoes served with sriracha ketchup and an ancho chili honey. This course is paired with a GABF medal winner – Snow Drop Kottbusser Ale, a 7.1% ABV beer that goes with everything, but is an especially nice complement to fiery foods. Brunch will finish with a caramelized pineapple jalapeno bread pudding served with maple syrup. This dessert has been paired with a Bleeding Heart S’mores Porter. Every year Grimm Brothers Brewhouse brews a unique Bleeding Heart beer in celebration of Valentine’s Day, an important day in Loveland, Colorado, the Sweetheart City. Each year it is so popular that the tap room is often sold out by Valentine’s Day. This year’s guests of My Big Date are sure to get a taste of this rare beer. My Big Date packages are available on Saturday, February 13, 2016. The VIP package, available on February 14 only, is sold out. For more information go to ValentinesDayinLoveland.com. My Big Date is brought to you by My Big Day, LLC, NOCO Short Bus Tours, LLC and HeidiTown.com, and has been endorsed by Visit Loveland. My Big Day loves working with brides who have a vision and are willing to try new things. With every wedding season trends change and we can see patterns in popularity. Here is what we are seeing for 2015: Destination Weddings to the Colorado Mountains: Living and having a business based in Colorado, we see 'mountain themed' weddings all the time. But in 2015 we are seeing more destination weddings to the Colorado mountains than ever! We have brides coming from out of state and getting married in Silverthorne, Breckenridge, Estes park, Vail, Beaver Creek, Granby, and Steamboat Springs. Why are mountain weddings so popular? We think it's because a wedding outdoors makes for great photos, Colorado has reliable weather, and Colorado is more affordable than having your friends and family fly to Bora Bora for your destination! Classic Making a Comeback: Everything old is new again! Simple elegance, white, gold accents, distinguished details... We are seeing the word "Classic" everywhere! Think lace... pastel pink... fine china ... crystal.... what weddings were, and are again! CLICK HERE for more wedding inspiration on Pinterest! Laser-Cut Wedding Invitations: In 2015 laser cut and laser scribed invitations have definitely become popular. We are seeing "Classic" make a comeback, and laser cut invitations are a statement piece that can convey a classic theme to your guests. With the array of designs and intricacies available, these invitations set the tone of a wedding! They are great for Save the Dates too! We received this laser scribed invitation from bride, Alicia: "Frozen" Winter Weddings: Blame it on Disney... weddings are not just for the summer (they never really have been). But more than ever, winter weddings are gaining in popularity. And why not!?! Snow makes the perfect background for soft, clean, sparkly elegance! CLICK HERE for additional winter wedding inspiration on Pinterest. Wedding Cinematography: Forget the words "wedding video." Wedding movies are the new trend! My Big Day has worked with some incredible videographers who turn weddings into short films. We LOVE this trend! Below is a wedding film from one of our recent weddings: Craft Beer Weddings: Being from Colorado, and having a business in Northern Colorado, "The Napa of Beer"... we find that craft beer has made it's way into the wedding scene - BIG TIME! Signature cocktails will always be a fun offering for guests. But local, craft beer and spirits make your Big Day a celebration of you, and where you are from! Have Fun. Be Young. Let us know how we can help!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE “My Big Date,” a Valentine’s Day getaway in Loveland, Colorado Loveland, Colorado January 2, 2015– It’s been the sweetheart city since 1877, and now there is a great reason to make Loveland, Colorado your destination this Valentine’s Day. Three Loveland-based, female owned businesses have created My Big Date, a tasty escape to the Sweetheart City. “Loveland has been a destination for art lovers for many years, but we want people to realize that the town is the perfect Valentine’s Day destination,” said Christine Kovacs Forster, founder of My Big Day Events, LLC, an event planning company in Loveland. Last year, Ms. Forster, Mechelle Martz-Mayfield, owner of NOCO Short Bus Tours, LLC, a brewery tour service, and Heidi Kerr-Schlaefer, founder of HeidiTown.com, the place for Colorado festival and travel stories, came together to create My Big Date. There are two packages available this year, and space is limited. The Brunch & Brew package is available on February 14 and 15, 2014. This package includes a coffee tasting at Loco Artisan Coffeehouse, a beer and brunch pairing at Loveland Aleworks and a beer tasting paired with B. Transportation between venues will be provided by NOCO Short Bus Tours, LLC. Both packages include time for guests to stroll through Loveland’s Fire & Ice winter festival that takes place annually in downtown Loveland over Valentine’s Day weekend. “My Big Date is a great way to introduce people to Loveland,” said Martz-Mayfield. “It’s an introduction to our active brewery scene, our distillery scene and an opportunity to show off downtown.” All 42 participants will receive a gift bag filled with Loveland swag, such as coupons, beer tokens, chocolate and more. In addition, each couple will also receive the book entitled, “14 Days of Foreplay,” by marriage and family therapist, Monica L. ![]() My Big Day event participants are safe party people! And to help them stay safe and party smart, we consistently offer recommendations for local transportation services to help people get to and from their destination without having to worry about drinking and driving. My Big Day's summer Sloshball event is a huge hit with Northern Coloradoans. While we like to 'throw them back on the field,' and 'kick them out of the park'... we don't like to foul out by getting behind the wheel sloshed! As Northern Colorado grows, we have more services to choose from! Below are the companies that My Big Day has worked with and recommend for your next night out!
One of these signature events is the annual 'Easter Keg Hunt.' The Easter Keg Hunt is a public scavenger hunt for adults, held in Old Town Fort Collins. Teams register to play in groups of 6-9. Prior to the event they are given a team color and a list of 'tools' to bring, which will help them solve clues. Teams show off their Easter spirit with wild costumes on the day of the event. At kick-off teams are given their first Easter egg, which contains their first clue to a business on the scavenger hunt route. Once they make it to that business, they are given another egg with another clue. Stops along the route include dares, challenges, and some drinking! The final clue leads teams to a restaurant where we toast the winning team and share stories.
![]() My Big Day is a BIG fan of any event that benefits people and businesses in multiple ways. Great Plates is one of those events. The Fort Collins Downtown Business Association puts on this event every year, and it's benefits are three-fold: - Restaurants receive business from potentially NEW customers that have never tried their restaurant before - Customers get to try these restaurants at a great, discounted price - The Food Bank of Larimer County benefits from this event, and in turn, raises enough money to serve thousands of meals! The only problem we have is that the event only lasts two weeks, and we don't have enough time to try each restaurant!
For more information on this event, visit DowntownFortCollins.com --- but don't wait too long! The event this year is from March 1-14, 2014. And to learn more about one of our favorite non-profits, visit the Food Bank of Larimer County website: FoodBankLarimer.org CLICK HERE for a list of participating businesses! ![]() My Big Day would be crazy not to post about Valentine's Day, since we LOVE love and parties! And we'd also be crazy not to promote the FUN packages we have put together for Valentine's Day. In the 10 years we've lived in Loveland, and 8 years in business, we've always longed for more to do in our great Sweetheart City! Loveland is not only home of the Valentine's re-mailing program, and streets lined with giant wooden hearts with loving messages... we are the home of Valentine's Day! We take great pride in celebrating love. With our friends, Heidi from Heiditown and Mechelle from NoCo Short Bus Tours, we decided to put together packages that celebrate Valentine's Day and all our city has to offer.
