DIY is hot and we are all very aware. The rising trend in DIY currently is Pinterest parties. Women are getting together bringing supplies and having what’s called 'Make Days' aka Pinterest parties. They are making their own crafts, beauty products, and health remedies. This is such a fun and creative way to get together or get to know someone.
This is also great for kiddos and keeping them entertained at parties. DIY kids’ parties have become very popular as well. They can make their own chalks or toys even costumes to use at the party immediately. Kids and parents alike are loving this. It is such a fun way to teach lessons and creativity.
Easy Steps to Host a Pinterst Party:
You and your friends create a group craft board on Pinterest, where everyone adds pins of crafts they'd like to make.
You can do this part one of two ways...
OPTION 1: The host picks one or two simple crafts off of the group board and purchases the supplies so everyone can make them during the party.
OPTION 2: Each guest picks a craft off of the board she'd like to make, and brings enough supplies for 4 guests, including herself. Names are pulled out of a hat to decide which craft goes with which guest. By the end of the evening, every guest gets to make 4 crafts. **Remind your guests that the crafts they choose should not take more than a half hour to complete, or you'll be there all night. :)
FOOD Make the party a "Pinterest potluck" and asks your guest to bring a dish they found on Pinterest.

Quite regularly we get asked about private event space rentals up and down the front range. I try to write about as many venues as possible, and post them to the My Big Day Pinterest page.
Yesterday I just learned of a perfect space in Downtown Loveland, CO that seats about 30... perfect for meetings, parties, clubs, small receptions, baby showers, birthdays, etc! And the best part, they only charge $25 an hour to rent the space!
Oh wait, the better part is that it's INSIDE of a cupcake shop!
B Sweet Cupcakes is a gem in Downtown Loveland. I only wish I had known of this space earlier!
The space is a private room, tables, chairs, private bathroom access, etc. It's quiet and smells like cupcakes. Need I say more?

You can smell the cinnamon and spices in the air! The holidays are here, which means the season for holiday craft fairs and festivals.
My Big Day uses a great resource for researching and posting craft shows.
Mile High on the Cheap is a website that allows you to research and list holiday shows up and down the front range. All listings are for FREE fair, unless otherwise indicated.
From Castle Rock to Fort Collins, you can find a comprehensive list for every craft fair. You'll even find holiday festivals at schools, churches, small bazaars, and HUGE extravaganzas!
Shop for unusual gifts, many handmade by local artists and artisans, at upcoming holiday arts and crafts shows, festivals and bazaars. Because you usually buy directly from the creators, prices are reasonable — and sometimes downright bargains.
CLICK HERE to go to the Mile High on the Cheap website and see the interactive map of listings, and long list of shows by date.

If you haven't yet heard about the latest social media craze, then you might live in a closet. Pinterest is keeping woman up late at night, increasing the electric bill with hours of 'pinning', and is helping moms feel like underachievers all across America!
Pinterest is for the crafty and culinary experts at heart. It is a way to catalog all the things you'd like to have, make, and wish you had the time to do.
I, myself, am addicted. I find that I'm 'liking' and 'pinning' things for the kids I don't have and recipes I'll never make.
But nevermind all that. For businesses, Pinterest can be a fantastic way to promote your products, simply by listing them and allowing other to like or pin them.
On my Pinterest page I've created multiple pages for the events I host. It's a great way to keep track of fun ideas for years to come and for future attendees to get a feel for the silliness.
However... you will NEVER see my secrets posted on Pinterest. I may be creative, but I'm not crazy. You have to attend a MY BIG DAY event to appreciate the little things that the internet just can't give you!
