At MBD Marketing & Events, we know how to mix work and play to create a truly fun and engaging work environment. We pride ourselves on bringing energy and enthusiasm to our work every day. All of us find meaning and joy in the work we do for our clients. Here’s how each member of our team brings “Joy to the Job!” ![]() Christine Forster President, Purveyor of Passions I bring Joy to the Job by providing clients with MBD team members that match best with their needs. Every client, no matter the size, deserves someone who truly cares about their business and aligns well with their beliefs and passions. The personal touches are also important to me as a business owner. Postcards, happy notes, social time outside of business time and passing along business leads all are ways I bring joy to the job. ![]() Carrie Kaufman (Stadtmueller) Executive, Content Conductor I provide a cool and calm presence when things go off-course. In event planning, we are trained to imagine and prepare for all possible outcomes. Sometimes things don't go exactly as planned. I make it my mission to stay calm and on-task during these little moments of chaos, hopefully providing peace of mind to our clients. I enjoy working behind the scenes so our clients and their causes can shine! ![]() Tiffany Dinsmore Manager, Magic Maker One of my personal strengths is the ability to remain calm and think things through when a problem arises, rather than panic. I have the ability to remain level-headed and solve problems behind the scenes, relieving stress and worry for our clients and bringing them joy. ![]() Katie Patterson Director, Community Wizard I absolutely love to problem solve. The moment something inevitably goes wrong and we are able to quickly solve the issue is so rewarding. Sometimes the client comes to us with a problem and is beyond grateful we were there to solve it (day of or in the days before an event). But many times the client isn’t even aware of the issue and sees everything running smoothly. In both cases, problem-solving truly brings me joy! ![]() Kathy Teele Manager, Client Cheerleader I love to be in person with events, as it gives you a chance to meet and talk with the guests. You get to hear their stories, share in their joy, see their excitement and know that you were a hug, an ear for listening or you were someone for them to jump for joy with. It's what everyone needs! ![]() Sarah Biekert Manager, Punctuation Prodigy I am a perfectionist. When I’m working, every detail matters, because my goal is to make our client’s vision come to life. Whether it’s someone’s wedding or a small business client, my favorite thing is when a client walks into their event space or sees marketing materials we’ve prepared and says, “Wow,” with a smile on their face. ![]() Amanda Sammartino Manager, Marketing Maven I'm not afraid to ask the tough questions to help identify barriers to success. I also use my fundraising background to help create materials that will anticipate donor questions. ![]() Amy Dixon Manager, Marketing Maven I try to bring joy to my clients by talking them up in social media posts. It’s always hard to brag about yourself, but if someone else is seeing the talent in you and is good at expressing your strengths in words, it’s a huge compliment! As purveyors of fun with MBD Marketing & Events, we support businesses and individuals in the growth of their ideas, events and marketing strategies. Our creative aptitude and team of women with diverse backgrounds and expertise allows for unique ideas. Our passion for perfection makes every client a priority! ![]() Carrie Rose Brennan Manager, Content Queen My personal joy comes from the visual arts and photography. One way I express joy and share it with others is through my photography. My photography seeks to see things from a new perspective: capturing patterns and ratios, the play of light, and of course the product for our customers. I have worked on thousands of websites and use my skill of recognizing patterns to make great user-friendly websites for customers. When I design a website, I try to make it as user-friendly as possible as well as having the overall design capture the aesthetic and ethos of the company. ![]() Marissa Rogers Exceptional Event Expert One of my strengths is learning the little things that are most important to my clients, and my attention to detail. Sometimes the smallest details can make the biggest impact by featuring those details in an event. I look out for those little, surprise "wow" moments and how I can incorporate them into an event to make it really personalized and special. Our team listens first. We are passionately curious about you and your business – what moves you and what you want to accomplish. We offer custom business support plans, based on your business size and goals. Our packages offer a large variety of services all in one place, giving you a source of support and streamlined productivity. As a collective of experts, My Big Day specializes in creativity. The statistics don't lie. We have an issue in Northern Colorado and we are determined to help shed light on it and to support Partners in their efforts to encourage Larimer residents to "Make the Call." The No DUI Larimer coalition and campaign was born out of the need to address the problem of impaired driving in our community. The goal is to prevent driving under the influence of alcohol or other substances by increasing community responsibility for safe and responsible driving. Our campaign is encouraging the public to “Make the Call” to end impaired driving in our community. Make the Call to get a safe ride home. Make the Call about whether you should get behind the wheel, and Make the Call to report suspected impaired drivers. Driving under the influence IS an emergency–please call 911 if you see someone you suspect is driving impaired. Areas of focus for this group include:
Every day, almost 30 people in the United States die in drunk-driving crashes, that’s one person every 50 minutes. In 2019 more than 8,500 people were arrested for driving under the influence in Colorado. A needs assessment completed in October 2018 found that DUI/DWAI offenses are a significant issue in Larimer County due to a number of factors on which the dedicated members of the steering committee will focus through education, outreach, and policy change. In 2020 roughly 65% of drivers arrested for a DUI tested positive for at least one drug (including alcohol) and 25.3% for two or more drugs. 25% of Larimer County adults reported binge drinking in the past month. This is higher than the state (18%) and national (16%) average. Ending impaired driving is a joint effort between law enforcement, government agencies, alcohol and cannabis retailers, local nonprofits, and the community. We need your help to stop impaired driving before it happens, and when it’s happening. MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS INITIATIVE: Partners, who absorbed this project from the former nonprofit, Team Wellness & Prevention, is the lead agency on this five-year project which is now in its fourth year. When Covid-19 hit in full force back in 2020, many non-profits were forced to pivot with their fundraising plans. In-Person galas, games, and races were all forced to move to virtual events - some within days of their original event. Others were simply forced to cancel. These changes sent avid givers and supporters from ballrooms and racetracks into their living rooms and chatrooms. It also sent non-profit event planners and professionals into a two-year-long strategic pivot just to sustain their mission and goals. As we move from full Covid-19 lockdowns and mandates, nonprofits and their donors are headed back to in-person events. Bringing people back together after a two-year hiatus is exciting. As event planners who work with a lot of non-profits, we are thrilled to be able to create a sense of normalcy for our clients. As we plan we are creating new ways to bring people back together in safe, comfortable, and engaging ways - a new normal. ur calendars are full of new in-person events Spring is typically a time for non-profits to hold their Galas and large-scale fundraisers. As we look at our calendar, we are full of a variety of in-person fundraising events. We are creating and executing a total of eight large-scale in-person events for clients now through June. These events range from game shows, corporate giving events, open houses, auctions, and galas. Our clients are eager to get back in front of their donors and the community. While we are too, we are still planning these events to be socially safe and able to pivot at a moment’s notice, should restrictions surrounding the pandemic change. We are encouraging our non-profit clients who are hosting spring events to incorporate social distancing steps and protocols into their planning. We suggest that our clients include their safety measures on their event landing pages. We also encourage them to provide hand washing stations and hand sanitizers for their guests. Most importantly, we are promoting clear communication between their organization and their guests. When it comes to the health and safety of donors and supporters, strong, consistent communication is best! Spring Events are highlighting organization missions Many of our clients have missed the face-to-face connection with their donors and supporters. That is why we are working hard to create compelling and engaging programming for their events. Focusing on the organization’s mission is the best way to re-engage with donors and supporters. This is the most important part of these in-person spring fundraisers. We want to make giving easy and fun! Some of the events that we are currently organizing include:
Getting back in person has been a long time coming We are excited to be able to plan events that reconnect our clients with their donors. We pride ourselves on planning that creates safe and fun events for our clients. Finding and creating new opportunities to re-engage supporters and donors is a fun challenge. Our events may still have some pandemic elements - we anticipate many clients choosing to go the “hybrid” route for a while in order to meet supporters on their own comfort level. We believe that this will be the new “normal” of the future. But, we also believe that these new Spring Fundraising Events will serve to re-engage the greater community around the missions of these organizations. People are ready and excited to get out, to come together, and to have fun! Two years apart has been two years too long! Contact MBD Marketing & Events Small Business. Big Impact. Oprah does this too. Smart ladies! Last year, a few of us on the team picked up on this practice and really felt great about focusing on a word that would help with the trajectory of our year and what we would most like to focus on. This year... we're thinking bigger. We have personal words, focus words for multiple clients, and a focus word for our company. In 2021, our word is FORWARD. Every year we research venues, restaurants and activities fit for groups of all sizes. As this credit union grows, it becomes increasingly difficult to find a venue that can hold and entertain over 300 people. This year, one of the options we recommended to our client was The CandleLight Dinner Theater Playhouse in Johnstown, CO. The Candlelight loves working with large groups and was able to offer us a full seating at opening night of A Christmas Carol! Of course, we had to book early on, but we start early when helping our clients with party selections. We must say, the staff at The Candlelight was wonderful to work with! The menu was fantastic as well!! Nothing puts you in the holiday spirit like a well-decorated lobby, filled with smiling faces --- oh, and a bar before you even enter the theater!
