The No DUI Larimer Marketing Campaign: Bringing Awareness to A Crucial Issue

1/11/2023

MBD Marketing & Events has proudly supported the No DUI Larimer initiative through marketing services for 3 years. The statistics don't lie. We have an issue in Northern Colorado and we are determined to help shed light on it and to support Partners in their efforts to encourage Larimer residents to "Make the Call."
Picture
The No DUI Larimer coalition and campaign was born out of the need to address the problem of impaired driving in our community. The goal is to prevent driving under the influence of alcohol or other substances by increasing community responsibility for safe and responsible driving.

Our campaign is encouraging the public to “Make the Call” to end impaired driving in our community. Make the Call to get a safe ride home. Make the Call about whether you should get behind the wheel, and Make the Call to report suspected impaired drivers. Driving under the influence IS an emergency–please call 911 if you see someone you suspect is driving impaired.

Areas of focus for this group include:

  • A media campaign that increases the community’s understanding of its role to prevent drunk and drugged driving
  • Changing local conditions to promote responsible and safe driving
  • Integrating DWAI/DUI messaging with promotion of local dining and drinking to be responsive to climate of businesses post COVID19
  • Collaborating with law enforcement efforts and agencies, and formalizing county-wide collaboration

Every day, almost 30 people in the United States die in drunk-driving crashes, that’s one person every 50 minutes.  In 2019 more than 8,500 people were arrested for driving under the influence in Colorado. A needs assessment completed in October 2018 found that DUI/DWAI offenses are a significant issue in Larimer County due to a number of factors on which the dedicated members of the steering committee will focus through education, outreach, and policy change.

Picture
In 2020 roughly 65% of drivers arrested for a DUI tested positive for at least one drug (including alcohol) and 25.3% for two or more drugs.

25% of Larimer County adults reported binge drinking in the past month. This is higher than the state (18%) and national (16%) average.

Ending impaired driving is a joint effort between law enforcement, government agencies, alcohol and cannabis retailers, local nonprofits, and the community. We need your help to stop impaired driving before it happens, and when it’s happening.

Keystone Financial Client Appreciation Event

11/18/2022

It always feel good to be appreciated and Keystone Financial does a great job at letting their clients know that they are treasured. MBD Marketing & Events was asked to help plan Keystone's annual Client Appreciation event and we loved every minute of it! What a wonderful, thoughtful group of people!
We were tasked with finding:
  • An affordable venue that can seat 200
  • Tasty and creative catering
  • Fall décor
  • Some sort of entertainment suitable for their clients
  • And do this in less than 2 months on the fringe of holiday party season!
MBD Marketing & Events reached out to all of the venues that were suitable, sent RFPs to many caterers, and vetted about 25 entertainers! We quickly got everything booked and ready for invitations to be sent out.  Keystone Financial hosted their largest gathering yet - and gave their clients a very fun night!

Thank you for trusting MBD to do what we do best --- Bring JOY to the Job!

Spring Fundraisers are Back!

2/22/2022

Safe, In-Person fundraisers are back and better than ever!

When Covid-19 hit in full force back in 2020, many non-profits were forced to pivot with their fundraising plans. In-Person galas, games, and races were all forced to move to virtual events - some within days of their original event. Others were simply forced to cancel. These changes sent avid givers and supporters from ballrooms and racetracks into their living rooms and chatrooms. It also sent non-profit event planners and professionals into a two-year-long strategic pivot just to sustain their mission and goals.

As we move from full Covid-19 lockdowns and mandates, nonprofits and their donors are headed back to in-person events. Bringing people back together after a two-year hiatus is exciting. As event planners who work with a lot of non-profits, we are thrilled to be able to create a sense of normalcy for our clients. As we plan we are creating new ways to bring people back together in safe, comfortable, and engaging ways - a new normal.

Picture
ur calendars are full of new in-person events

Spring is typically a time for non-profits to hold their Galas and large-scale fundraisers. As we look at our calendar, we are full of a variety of in-person fundraising events. We are creating and executing a total of eight large-scale in-person events for clients now through June. These events range from game shows, corporate giving events, open houses, auctions, and galas.

Our clients are eager to get back in front of their donors and the community. While we are too, we are still planning these events to be socially safe and able to pivot at a moment’s notice, should restrictions surrounding the pandemic change.

We are encouraging our non-profit clients who are hosting spring events to incorporate social distancing steps and protocols into their planning. We suggest that our clients include their safety measures on their event landing pages. We also encourage them to provide hand washing stations and hand sanitizers for their guests. Most importantly, we are promoting clear communication between their organization and their guests. When it comes to the health and safety of donors and supporters, strong, consistent communication is best!

Spring Events are highlighting organization missions

Many of our clients have missed the face-to-face connection with their donors and supporters. That is why we are working hard to create compelling and engaging programming for their events. Focusing on the organization’s mission is the best way to re-engage with donors and supporters. This is the most important part of these in-person spring fundraisers. We want to make giving easy and fun!

Some of the events that we are currently organizing include:

  • The Family Center-La Familia BELONG Event and Open House  This FREE family-friendly event will take place on the campus of The Family Center. It will feature food trucks, a mobile bar, live music, facility tours, and plenty of activities for the kids. It is a way to feature the important work that The Family Center does to support families in Northern Colorado. (March 26, 2022)
  • NoCo Grocery Grab and event for Partners  This fun-filled event brings the energy of the classic TV game show, Supermarket Sweep to Northern Colorado. Partners will be hosting a raffle for the chance to win a shopping spree of up to either $1000, $750, or $500 at Lucky’s Market in downtown Fort Collins. Winners of the raffle will have a limited amount of time to grab whatever they can, with a few hidden prizes along the way. (April 3, 2022)
  • Joy on the Journey “Vineyard Vibes” for Dementia Together  An evening full of wine and a chance to learn and experience the ways that Dementia Together is bringing joy to the journeys of those living with dementia. (April 12, 2022)

Getting back in person has been a long time coming

We are excited to be able to plan events that reconnect our clients with their donors. We pride ourselves on planning that creates safe and fun events for our clients. Finding and creating new opportunities to re-engage supporters and donors is a fun challenge. Our events may still have some pandemic elements - we anticipate many clients choosing to go the “hybrid” route for a while in order to meet supporters on their own comfort level. We believe that this will be the new “normal” of the future. But, we also believe that these new Spring Fundraising Events will serve to re-engage the greater community around the missions of these organizations. People are ready and excited to get out, to come together, and to have fun! Two years apart has been two years too long!

F-O-R-W-A-R-D

1/29/2021

Carrie, My Big Day's Executive, Content Conductor has made a practice for years of choosing a 'word of the year.' Oprah does this too. Smart ladies!

Last year, a few of us on the team picked up on this practice and really felt great about focusing on a word that would help with the trajectory of our year and what we would most like to focus on.

This year... we're thinking bigger. We have personal words, focus words for multiple clients, and a focus word for our company.

In 2021, our word is FORWARD.

For us, forward is the direction in which we are heading. After an unusual and record-breaking year, we remain eternally optimistic about the future of events and our capabilities in being the GO TO Marketing & Events company in Northern Colorado who can reinvent and reimagine... quickly!

Come, move forward with us --- there are great things happening with MBD Marketing & Events!

What is Coaching?
Coaching provides individuals, teams and partnerships with the clarity and focus to uncover their life’s purpose, direction and goals. Through a series of conversations, you will work with your coach to build self-confidence and self-efficacy while utilizing tools to powerfully chart your path forward. During coaching you will clarify who you want to be and how you want to move forward in the world. Coaching is a holistic approach with forward action. While you come with goals and topics, we may explore a variety of areas of your life that may be holding you back from the life you truly want to live.

What is your approach?

As a coach I focus on you, the client, and what you deeply desire for your life. Through our conversations, I will ask powerful questions to uncover what you want and what is holding you back, so you can break through and be your most authentic self. In my coaching, authenticity in the relationship is key and I bring an open-minded approach believing all things are possible. I have an insightful approach to uncovering your full potential and boldly help you build your tool kit for success in all areas of your life.

Why is it important?

Coaching can support your business with the following; gain clarity around company and team goals, improve productivity, scale your business, manage operational issues, devise actionable plans for success, increase leadership skills & capacity, improve team dynamics, hone company values, identify root problems and create tangible solutions.

She truly wants clients to live the adventure that is their life. Katie has her master’s degree in organizational leadership and is obtaining her certification in professional coaching.

Company Holiday Party: Candlelight Dinner Theater

12/1/2015

Picture
My Big Day was happy to put together a fun night out for our credit union client for their holiday party. Every year we research venues, restaurants and activities fit for groups of all sizes. As this credit union grows, it becomes increasingly difficult to find a venue that can hold and entertain over 300 people. This year, one of the options we recommended to our client was The CandleLight Dinner Theater Playhouse in Johnstown, CO.

The Candlelight loves working with large groups and was able to offer us a full seating at opening night of A Christmas Carol!
Of course, we had to book early on, but we start early when helping our clients with party selections.

We must say, the staff at The Candlelight was wonderful to work with!  The menu was fantastic as well!!

Nothing puts you in the holiday spirit like a well-decorated lobby, filled with smiling faces --- oh, and a bar before you even enter the theater!
