My Big Day Marketing & Events had the pleasure of hosting in this fabulous location, and we highly recommend it to anyone that wants that downtown event feel! They have a large open space that can serve as a ceremony spot as well as a dining and reception hall. The space can fit up to 170 guests for a ceremony. With a quick turn around, it can seat up to 120 guests for a meal.  A bonus for this location – it is one of a handful of local establishments where couples can bring their own alcohol, and the Everyday Joe’s staff have bartenders that are insured, certified, and available upon request.  They even have staff available to help with set up, and tear down – something all event planners LOVE!  A winter snow storm couldn’t stop the newest branch of the Bachus & Shanker law firm from opening up it’s doors for some celebratory fun! My Big Day Marketing & Events was honored to be the planning partner for the branch’s Grand Opening - Open House.  Bachus & Shanker are personal injury attorneys who have built their sprawling state-wide practice to help injured people achieve justice. Since they opened their first office in 1997, they have represented over 10,000 people. They are advocates for victim rights, and they are dedicated to the communities in which they work through the Bachus & Shanker, LLC Care Foundation. This foundation has given more than $150,000 to local charities over the past four years. My Big Day Marketing & Events was brought in to help plan the grand opening open house and toy drive for their Fort Collins office. We helped manage the event set up from securing vendors to rental deliveries and set up. Our staff was on hand prior to, during, and after the event to make sure everything ran smoothly. We assisted with guest check-in, bar-tending, and ran the event’s contest drawing.  Guests of Bachus & Shanker RSVP’d for an evening of delicious food, drink, networking, and fun. During the event, there was a surprise visit from Slap Shot, the Colorado Eagles mascot. They were on hand to help hand out the grand prize drawing - tickets to future Colorado Eagles games. Two lucky winners won 4 tickets each to games in December and January.  While the nasty winter weather did have a slight effect on attendance, those that did brave the weather found a great opportunity to network with other industry professionals. The office space had a wonderful break room area that was perfect for mingling over appetizers and drinks. My Big Day is grateful for the opportunity to help plan this celebration and looks forward to building a strong community connection with this company. Here are our top 10 DOs for your company holiday party. Find the right date The holiday season means travel and a full social calendar for many people, so it’s important to plan early and get input on your event date. Choose several potential dates and poll employees to see which date will have the greatest attendance. Once you’ve chosen a date, book that venue – and we mean, like, yesterday. Find the right location (not the office) Since your company probably isn’t the only one throwing a holiday party this year, secure your location ASAP. Even if your office is big enough to host your party, your employees probably spend 40+ hours per week there. Why not switch it up with a fun venue downtown? Be sure to consider proximity to the office (so the travel time will be similar to the time it takes your employees to get to work), parking space, venue capacity, and amenities like a kitchen, stage, or projector wall. And don’t forget restroom access!  Consider food preferences Don’t just buy the tray labeled “party food” at the grocery store. Consider your employees’ food preferences. Maybe you have a lot of vegetarians in the office, or sweet treat fanatics. A vote also comes in handy in this situation. Be sure to ask about any food allergies, particularly if that means you’ll need to keep certain foods out of the event space completely. Hire an event planner Feeling overwhelmed yet? The perfect office party is just the right blend of structure and professionalism with just enough of a relaxed atmosphere where people can cut loose enough with some fun and slight indulgences. A time to celebrate a year of accomplishments! We’ve helped many companies and businesses plan perfect celebrations with class and flair. And, it’s always great for our clients to know that they have an extra set of eyes and hands on site to help should things get out of hand - or slightly out of control. How can things get out of control, you might ask? Well, anytime you mix good food, good drink, good music, and good fun – you run the risk of things getting out of control. Best of the Christmas Parties - The Office
The Office has great examples for what “not to do” on so many occasions. This compilation of their holiday parties is a gold mine! But, there is one rule that really sticks out in this… Holiday Party Tip: Don’t drink too much! If your employer is offering you a drink and you don’t mind - accept, but watch and limit yourself! If there is one place you cannot afford to lose your senses, it is at an event that is hosted by your boss and attended by your coworkers. You do not want to be the talk around the watercooler the next Monday! Best advice - probably stick to a two drink maximum. This will allow you to enjoy yourself without having to pay for it later!
