Holiday Fun on a Budget in Northern Colorado
The holidays are in full swing! That means that calendars are bursting at the seams with events, activities, and celebrations. However, sometimes, it’s hard to feel completely festive when your pocket book doesn’t sparkle like the lights in Downtown Fort Collins.
Don’t fall victim to the holiday budget blues! My Big Day Marketing & Events has scoured the event listings and found some fun and festive activities that you can do that won’t break the bank!
Love the Lights!
Winter Wonderlights - Bundle up and take a stroll through Chapungu Sculpture Park’s Winter Wonderlights at Centerra in Loveland! Enjoy the 150,000 lights, including holiday string lights, twinkling bulbs, LED mappable snowflakes, illuminated African stone sculptures and a 30 minute music and light show that takes place every night, November 19 - January 1st.
This magical wonderland is free for the public to enjoy. Each show is 30 minutes long and runs from 5:00 - 9:00 pm each night! Some nights even include a variety of vendors including Reindeer visits, food, and other fun!
Downtown Fort Collins Holiday Lights - The beautiful twinkle lights are back in Downtown Fort Collins! Enjoy the beautiful white lit trees that line College Avenue and Old Town Square now through Valentine’s Day! Pack a thermos of hot cocoa and window shop while you stroll! FREE for all to enjoy!
Garden of Lights at The Gardens on Spring Creek - For a small fee, you and your family can enjoy a magical tour through the holiday lit gardens, December 9 - 24. The gardens, flowerbeds, sculptures, and fields will be illuminated with thousands of LED lights.Be mesmerized by glow-in-the-dark circus performers and other live performers. Tickets are $10 for adults and children - 12 and up, $5 for children 5 - 11, and children 5 and below are FREE.
Christmas Walk in the Woods, 1750 Savage Road, Loveland, CO - Known for their Halloween shenanigans, Savage Woods has transformed into a winter wonderland for the holiday season! Explore the twinkle lights and Christmas displays, December 10 - January 1, 5:00 - 8:00 pm every evening. Santa and carolers will be on hand on certain evenings, and every night you are invited to enjoy some tasty hot chocolate while you stroll. Tickets are $8 for visitors 5 years old and up!
O Christmas Tree!
Union Colony Civic Center’s Festival of Trees (November 25 - Dec 3) - A beloved holiday tradition! There’s 9 days of festive family fun to take in at the Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley, CO. All of the trees on display are decorated and light by members and groups in the local community. Enjoy visits with Santa, food and beverages, and musical entertainment, too!
Santa’s Workshop, Old Town Square, Fort Collins - Catch Santa and some of his helpers select days, 12:00 - 6:00 pm through Christmas Eve. It’s free to visit with Santa. Professional photos are available for purchase.
