My Big Day was ecstatic to be enlisted as the 'fun makers' for Slate360, an event company based out of Nevada/Boston. The team at Slate360 asked us to plan a packed itinerary filled with experiences and excursions in Colorado. From booking car services to/from the hotel and out and about, to meals, to team-building activities, we had a blast putting together tons of fun for this client! Our new friends know how to make all of their team members feel welcome. Fantastic lodging at The Elizabeth Hotel in Old Town Fort Collins, a custom candy bar, packed fridge, every supply that could make one feel comfortable when traveling, and monogramed gifts for all! Here is a taste of just 2 days of the team's itinerary... Thank you to our photography friend, Dick Knapp, who captured some candid moments of the team and headshots! If your company is looking for a custom experience for your retreat and/or team-building, you know who to call.... MBD Marketing & Events. Small Business. Big Impact.

Their wedding was featured as a 'Real Wedding' on Wedding Wire. A chilly Estes Park day... but love filled the air. Thank you Heather & Jake for having us, and Amanda McCann for the lovely photo feature! LINK TO WEDDING WIRE We are obsessed with the fresh, clean, and classic style of Ciara and Shane’s Woodlands wedding in Morrison, Colorado! The couple (and Mother of the Bride) paid close attention to every single detail to create a beautiful day complete with many special personal touches. The result was an unforgettable day of beauty, fun, and love! My Big Day was honored to be a part of this special celebration of their lovestory! Guests were ushered around the stunning venue hall to a comfortable breezeway that overlooked the mountains and surrounding forest of The Woodlands just outside of Morrison, CO. They were encouraged to mingle over cool drinks and games of cornhole, or take advantage of comfy lounge chairs overlooking the venue grounds while they waited to be ushered to the ceremony site. The simple arbor that stood at the front of the ceremony isle matched the shape of the mountains that surrounded the beautiful site. Ciara and Shane took advantage of the views and nature for their decor, choosing to add only two large ferns at the back of the seating area. Guests were given packets of rose petals that they tossed after the touching ceremony and celebratory “I Do’s”! The bride wore a beautiful lace and beaded gown while her groom looked handsome in a deep burgundy suit. The men looked dashing in black while the bridesmaids and flower girls shimmered in gold. Florals were kept sleek and simple with bouquets of gathered greenery with pops of white provided by large Mums. The reception hall was full of a mix of farmhouse tables, round banquet tables, and high-tops, encouraging guests to mingle while sampling delicious treats from the many food stations set around the room. Ciara and Shane spent extra time creating a very personalized menu that mixed food from special trips and moments in their lovestory. They had signage explaining the significance of each dish served. The food provided a window into some of the most special moments of their courtship. From the food to the decor to the unique touches like kissing bells and a telephone guest book, this wedding was a memorable affair. It was wonderful to walk with Ciara and Shane through their planning process, and an honor to celebrate with them on their Big Day! Planning an end-of-life event for a loved one is never easy, but we hope to inspire you with these 35 celebration of life toast ideas in their memory. A celebration of life is a ceremony celebrating a one-of-a-kind individual, your loved one. It is typically a casual, joyful, and touching event where friends and family gather to reminisce and share favorite memories of the deceased and celebrate a life well lived. A celebration of life usually follows a burial or cremation and may or may not be preceded by a formal funeral. Every time we are asked to plan a celebration of life, we treat the process and our clients with compassion, respect, and the utmost attention to detail. 35 Celebration of Life Toast Ideas Short, Simple Celebration of Life Toast Oh, here's to other meetings, And merry greetings then; And here's to those we've drunk with, But never can again. Celebration of Life Toast for a Fisherman There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind. Time is but the stream I go a-fishing in. I drink at it; but while I drink I see the sandy bottom and detect how shallow it is. Its thin current slides away, but eternity remains. Short Quotes for a Celebration of Life Sometimes you will never know the true value of someone until they become a memory. True friends are always together in spirit. It may be a long walk, but our paths will cross again. What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments but what is woven into the lives of others. Only a moment you stayed but what an imprint your footprints have left on our hearts. They that love beyond the world cannot be separated by it. Death cannot kill what never dies. Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. . Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened. A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again. Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories. I submit to you that if a man hasn’t discovered something he will die for, he isn’t fit to live. It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow up to be. It’s hard to turn the page when you know someone won’t be in the next chapter, but the story must go on. Death is more universal than life; everyone dies, but not everyone lives. Nature-Inspired Celebration of Life Quotes Like a bird singing in the rain, let grateful memories survive in time of sorrow. Lives are like rivers: Eventually, they go where they must. Not where we want them to. For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one. If I had a flower for every time I thought of you, I could walk in my own garden forever. Inspirational Celebration of Life Toasts About Dying Too Young In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years. Only the good die young. Life is short. Always choose happiness. Some are bound to die young. By dying young a person stays young in people’s memory. If he burns brightly before he dies, his brightness shines for all time. As is a tale, so is a life. Not how long it is, but how good it is, is what matters. Funny Celebration of Life Toast Ideas Dying is a very dull, dreary affair. And my advice to you is to have nothing whatever to do with it. I am ready to meet my maker. Whether my maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter. I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it. The idea is to die young as late as possible. Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It’s the transition that’s troublesome. Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people live. *********************************** According to most studies, people’s number one fear is public speaking. Number two is death. They say such nice things about people at their funerals that it makes me sad to realize that I’m going to miss mine by just a few days. Amazing tradition. They throw a great party for you on the one day they know you can’t come. ***************************** Reach out to find out how we can help you plan a memorable celebration of life event as unique as your loved one. Referral Programs are effective tools in converting leads and expanding your loyal customer base. What is a Referral Program for Small Business? A referral program is a word-of-mouth marketing strategy that turns your most satisfied customers into brand ambassadors. To simplify - your customers do a lot of your marketing for you! Referral programs let satisfied customers share their brand experience with partners, colleagues, and friends - providing a much larger communication web than your business could do on its own, at a fraction of the cost! The purpose of a referral program is to acquire leads and build credibility. When you ask your customers to consider others who might benefit from your product or service, they will forward leads that are already a good fit for your brand. It means you will spend less time and money on acquiring new customers - these referred clients will come in already with exposure to your business. For many, a Small Business Referral Program produces images of punch-card programs or discount coupons. These are low-budget tools that can produce results, for sure, but even small businesses can expand their reach by collecting and using data and creative communication. How to Start Your Own Referral Program There are a variety of referral program software systems that you can research and utilize in setting up your own referral program. You can also utilize a variety of templates connected to your current CRM that allow you to create a bank of referral request emails, referral follow-up emails, social content about your business, and tools for creating a positive customer experience. That all sounds like a lot of work, but it is actually quite easy. After setting your referral program goals, start by:
Referral Program Examples You can reap great benefits from a strong and well thought out referral program. Offering your customers an official way to spread the word about your business and rewarding them for their efforts is the name of the game! There are many creative ways in which you can launch a successful program:
There are many ways to engage with your current customers to build a quality program that will benefit your bottom line. You can increase your visibility, expand your audience base, and grow closer to your current customers, for a fraction of the cost of paid advertising. Here are some essential tips for finding and keeping event sponsors for your small company or nonprofit. What are event sponsors? Sponsors are companies, organizations, or individuals who fund an event in exchange for publicity, so that proceeds from the event can go to the host organization. Sponsors typically provide monetary funds, but may also offer in-kind donations of goods, promotional sponsorships through platforms like websites or social media, or advertising sponsorships. How do I find event sponsors? When searching for potential event sponsors, consider organizations that have something in common with your own, such as a mission, values, and/or an audience. Your chances of securing a potential sponsor are much greater if there is reason for them to be interested in your event, such as a professed interest in your company’s goals and beliefs or potential for the sponsor to market themselves to their desired audience. You can also look at a company’s website, social media pages, and news articles to see if they’ve sponsored similar events in the past. When sourcing sponsors, consider:
How do I secure event sponsors? Event planners often provide potential sponsors with a sponsorship packet – a digital or printed pamphlet that breaks down the benefits a sponsor receives based on the amount of funding they provide. A sponsorship packet should include details about audience demographics, projected or past attendance numbers, vendor names, any data or analytics you can provide about your organization’s reach on individual platforms, and testimonials from past sponsors. For nonprofits, testimonials from beneficiaries can be very appealing to potential sponsors. Elements that can help with emotional appeal for both small businesses and nonprofits include your startup story, inspiration behind your organization, your mission statement, and ways your organization benefits the local community. Typical sponsorship benefits include brand exposure, audience engagement, and improved reputation for the sponsoring organization. A sponsorship packet outlines levels of sponsorship (for example, Silver, Gold, Platinum) and corresponding publicity benefits. What are some common event sponsor benefits?
What are some creative event sponsor benefits? Make your sponsorship packet stand out by offering these unique event sponsor benefits:

Here are four reasons why you need a small business communications plan – and how My Big Day can help. What is a communications plan? A communications plan or strategy is a system through which businesses communicate news and marketing messaging within the company and externally. Internal communication may occur between colleagues, human resources staff, and company management. Information may be communicated externally to the public, news media, clients, suppliers, and other businesses. The goal of a communications plan is to ensure your business’s messaging remains consistent, no matter who is receiving information and from which representative of your company. Communications plans are designed to be proactive, but are absolutely necessary in a crisis. A communications plan may address not only what message should be broadcast, but through which channels (for example, that certain types of messaging should be communicated through email, over the phone, or via internal memos). Why do I need a communications plan for my small business? Company Image A standardized, professional method of communication with the public lends your business credibility. Consistent communication builds external trust in your business, and trust is paramount to success. It is important to know which message(s) you want to convey to specific target audiences, which is where marketing comes into play. Conflicting information released by different parties sporadically conveys an image of disorganization, which degrades trust. Having a unified communications strategy that everyone in the company is aware of prevents confused messaging. Crisis Management Some sort of reputation crisis, whether big or small, is inevitable during the life of your small business. It may be one disgruntled client or a newsworthy catastrophe that affects a wide audience’s perception. Either way, having a strategic communication plan in place will reduce uncertainty for you and present your company as a unified front under scrutiny. Community Relations Engaging with and supporting your community is essential to your business’s image. Your company’s public reputation is enhanced by giving back, including support of nonprofits, local initiatives, and other businesses. Staying abreast of industry happenings helps you make better business decisions, and positive relationships with other businesses build trust and mutual respect. Internal Business Objectives and Employee Morale Having everyone in your company on the same page is essential to efficient operations. Everyone in your company should understand their roles and tasks and have the information necessary to carry them out. Missing or inconsistent information frustrates employees and decreases performance. Trust, loyalty, and transparency are cultivated through a consistent internal communications plan between employees and management. How do I create a small business communications plan? Creating an effective small business communications plan requires knowledge of branding, measurable goals, target markets, media relations, communication channels, campaigns and events, and evaluation of measurable communication analytics. Executing a strategic communications plan is a big job, and most small businesses don’t have a marketing or PR professional in-house. Internal communications plans, particularly for small companies, can be managed by an owner, president, or manager. External communications are best managed by professionals trained in marketing or public relations. At My Big Day, we offer a long list of small business services, including strategic communications planning, in conjunction with:

It is something important to consider when creating branded assets and audience reaction and reach. Color psychology can have a profound impact on your brand recognition, marketing campaigns, and overall message consistency. Most successful companies use consistent color combos in their branding and messaging strategies. Choosing the right colors for your brand or rebrand is essential. Your brand colors help produce a mood, feeling, and personality for your company, services, and products. The right brand colors will differentiate your brand from the sea of other businesses that your audience interacts with. When picking the right color for your brand, research has found that predicting consumer reaction to color appropriateness is far more important than the actual color itself. How Colors Influence Your Audience Color has always been something that appeals to the human visual senses. Countless marketing studies have shown that particular colors have certain effects on consumers. For example, some colors stimulate areas of the brain that promote excitement (red), while others provide a sense of tranquility (blue). Businesses can harness these color-influenced feelings in their marketing and branding. Check out this infographic on Color Influence: Your customers are bombarded with different images, colors, and brands every day. The colors you choose for your brand and your marketing campaigns (email marketing in particular) can help you stand out. Content created with color in mind can help your audience see exactly what you want to see and feel exactly what you want them to feel. The color combos and styling also has an effect on whether your content is readable or usable (think white fonts on a dark background). The wrong colors can have a profoundly negative effect on your message. Choosing the Right Colors for Your Brand Here are some pro tips when considering colors to represent your brand:
Consider contrast when choosing the colors for your branding and messaging.
