Les Schwab partnered with My Big Day once again for a fun football half-time challenge, as an effort to promote community spirit! This time we were at Loveland High School!
Randi and Becca from My Big Day had fun with the two Loveland student teams: FCA and Track & Field for a giant tire race. Thanks to all who participated! Recently the My Big Day Team visited the Platte River Fort in Greeley, CO. This needle in a haystack of a venue is the perfect place for a family reunion, corporate retreat, or large party! The venue bodes a variety of options... There is a large dining room that seats 50 people indoors, a courtyard with porch and patios, a party barn that can seat 250 guests, fire pits, yard games, and an upper deck that offers the best views in the area! Packages are available for every season. You can rent out the entire facility, or just pieces of it. We found the pricing to be very reasonable! With barn weddings and Western weddings and events being so popular in Colorado, the Platte River Fort is an ideal place for the person looking for a rustic environment that just so happens to be upscale! As far as the TOP selling points are concerned.... we love that this venue is located off a main road (34), so it's easy for your guests to get to. The ambiance feels like you are in another time... back in the old west! There is lodging available onsite - a rarity for unique venues like this. But best of all.... you can BRING YOUR OWN CATERER, and you can BRING YOUR OWN ALCOHOL! Licensed vendors are required of course. ***Should you need help planning your event at the Fort, My Big Day has both the experience necessary for a DIY venue such as this, and ALL of our team members are Tips Certified, allowing us to serve alcohol at this venue. While the NoCO Easter Keg Hunt has a 6 year history in Fort Collins, this is our first year in Loveland- and the event has officially SOLD OUT for both cities! Sell out is based on maximum capacity at local businesses. We enjoy the camaraderie of a celebratory kick-off and ending point at a restaurant. The Fort Collins Easter Keg Hunt is 15 teams strong and the Loveland Easter Keg Hunt has 7 teams.
Both downtowns will be filled with spirited adults, dressed in 'rabbit-wear' - solving clues to get them from business to business. Stay tuned for photos after the event! The Easter Keg Hunt is an annual event that keeps adults young! A wild and crazy scavenger hunt takes place in Old Town, Fort Collins and downtown Loveland Colorado. It is the perfect marriage between a road rally and a bar crawl!
Costumes, team color coordination, and 'Rabbit-Wear' is encouraged! A kick-off takes place at a local watering hole. Teams of 6-9 are gathered. Each team receives a bag filled with 'tools' for their hunt! Once we say the word "GO," all teams open their first Easter Egg and privately read their first clue. Each clue will lead teams to businesses around town where they will hunt for their eggs and solve clue after clue. The Easter Keg Hunt is by foot, and sure to be your favorite new way to celebrate Easter! The cost to participate is just $30 per person. The winning team receives a large keg trophy, and every team receives drinks and goodies along the way! We end the day between 4:30 and 5:30pm. Feel free to stick around for dinner and 'Keg Hunt' stories! Due to popularity, this event is capped based on restaurant capacity. This event sells out --- so purchase your tickets soon! Lieser. “My hope is that these two packages will entice people across the Front Range to come experience Loveland this Valentine’s Day. I believe that once they discover what Loveland has to offer, they’ll make future outings here,” said Kerr-Schlaefer. “I want My Big Date to put Loveland on the map as a destination town,” she added. My Big Date is brought to you by My Big Day, LLC, NOCO Short Bus Tours, LLC and HeidiTown.com, and has been endorsed by Visit Loveland. Being a good hostess is all about the timing and the come one come all attitude. All you need to remember is smiles, full drinks, full plates, great atmosphere. Here are a few structure points to being the best hostess you can be. As a hostess you are the greeter, server, entertainer, problem solver, and cleanup crew unless of course you hire someone for any of these jobs. Even if you hire someone a super hostess still eyeballs the help to make sure it’s getting done right. A great hostess can super charge the room just by their smile and presentation as you greet a guest. Be infectious and make the crowd happy and go lucky with a smile! We call that a Super Hospi Hostess, hospi stands for hospitality. 1. Set a clear start and end: When you send out an invite be sure you list time, place, start and end dates. This will allow people to plan for the event accordingly. This will also ensure your party loving friends don’t overstay their welcome. Be sure to add an RSVP due date for a better had count for your event. 2. Confirmations: Be prepared to make confirmation calls to those who haven’t RSVP yet. Always be sure to ask if you think you may need to make special accommodations for some one. 3. Comfort: When guests start to arrive be sure to make the rules clear “take your shoes off and head on in” or “There is/is not a smoking area out back”. Be sure you keep the environment comfortable for all guests and you too! Welcome them in and shoe them the layout. Everyone loves snacks and drinks, it’s the best part of the party!! Remember as your walking around mingling and welcoming new guests it’s OK to eyeball everyone’s plates and drinks. Be sure to ask in passing if they need a refill on any food or drink or if you can take their plate. Remember to SMILE SMILE SMILE! 4. Mingle, Mingle, Mingle: It is very important to mingle and mix things up. Walk around and talk with your guests, catch up and maybe get people who may not know each other to start a conversation. Keep your background music in mind should you decide to play some. Always put together a playlist that fits your crowd and don’t play it too loud. We want the music to entertain but not blast away! 5. Clean up: Clean as you go! It makes things so much easier as you go to pick up and clean as your walking around mingling. Offer to take some ones trash for them. A hostess never leaves their guest with their hands full. 6. The wind down and long good bye: Read your crowd! Timing is everything on the wind down. About an hour to thirty minutes before your scheduled end time take the time to look around and see if your guests seem to be winding down or going strong. If they are winding down you can turn your music down in the background more and start cleaning up a little more heavily as you mingle and say your goodbyes to those leaving. You can also thank people for coming as you’re cleaning up in their area before you move on, this will give the guest the impression the party is coming to an end politely. On the other hand if your guests seem to still be going strong and you don’t have to be out by a specific time start asking for refills again or if you can get them anything else. You can also turn the music up just a smidge. Mingle and ask your guests if they have met so and so yet and see if you can make some new connections. 7. The morning after: Give some of your guests’ calls over the next week and thank them for coming again and see if they have any feedback for you good or bad, just listen to what they have to say there is always room for improvement. This helps you refine your hosting skills and see what works and doesn’t so well. This also gives you an opportunity to give more invites if you have other events you want to have some guests to join. Your guests will love the follow up and the time you took to say thank you again. It leaves a great impression that you cared to call them and ask if they had a good time.
