My Big Day was privileged again to be the trusted planning partner for The Family Center/ La Familia. After years of limiting guests indoors, The Family Center opened their doors with an Open House fundraiser to showcase the work they do in the community. We were proud to host over 150 guests and showcase this gem in our community! Small Business. Big Impact.

When Covid-19 hit in full force back in 2020, many non-profits were forced to pivot with their fundraising plans. In-Person galas, games, and races were all forced to move to virtual events - some within days of their original event. Others were simply forced to cancel. These changes sent avid givers and supporters from ballrooms and racetracks into their living rooms and chatrooms. It also sent non-profit event planners and professionals into a two-year-long strategic pivot just to sustain their mission and goals. As we move from full Covid-19 lockdowns and mandates, nonprofits and their donors are headed back to in-person events. Bringing people back together after a two-year hiatus is exciting. As event planners who work with a lot of non-profits, we are thrilled to be able to create a sense of normalcy for our clients. As we plan we are creating new ways to bring people back together in safe, comfortable, and engaging ways - a new normal. ur calendars are full of new in-person events Spring is typically a time for non-profits to hold their Galas and large-scale fundraisers. As we look at our calendar, we are full of a variety of in-person fundraising events. We are creating and executing a total of eight large-scale in-person events for clients now through June. These events range from game shows, corporate giving events, open houses, auctions, and galas. Our clients are eager to get back in front of their donors and the community. While we are too, we are still planning these events to be socially safe and able to pivot at a moment’s notice, should restrictions surrounding the pandemic change. We are encouraging our non-profit clients who are hosting spring events to incorporate social distancing steps and protocols into their planning. We suggest that our clients include their safety measures on their event landing pages. We also encourage them to provide hand washing stations and hand sanitizers for their guests. Most importantly, we are promoting clear communication between their organization and their guests. When it comes to the health and safety of donors and supporters, strong, consistent communication is best! Spring Events are highlighting organization missions Many of our clients have missed the face-to-face connection with their donors and supporters. That is why we are working hard to create compelling and engaging programming for their events. Focusing on the organization’s mission is the best way to re-engage with donors and supporters. This is the most important part of these in-person spring fundraisers. We want to make giving easy and fun! Some of the events that we are currently organizing include:
Getting back in person has been a long time coming We are excited to be able to plan events that reconnect our clients with their donors. We pride ourselves on planning that creates safe and fun events for our clients. Finding and creating new opportunities to re-engage supporters and donors is a fun challenge. Our events may still have some pandemic elements - we anticipate many clients choosing to go the “hybrid” route for a while in order to meet supporters on their own comfort level. We believe that this will be the new “normal” of the future. But, we also believe that these new Spring Fundraising Events will serve to re-engage the greater community around the missions of these organizations. People are ready and excited to get out, to come together, and to have fun! Two years apart has been two years too long! Contact MBD Marketing & Events Small Business. Big Impact. Partners is a special 501c3 to MBD's owner, Christine, as they provide programs to our youth and a large mentorship program. Christine was a mentor to teen girls for over 10 years and has first hand experience as a mentor for Partners. Now as their fundraising team, we are asking our followers to support them and their vital programs for Northern Colorado Youth. Please choose to give to Partner’s Spark Campaign! Partners relies on community support to fund our youth programs and The Spark Campaign is our biggest fundraiser of the year. All of the funds we raise--from corporate sponsors, community groups, and individual donors--benefit our youth programs. Did you know that through Partners over 500 youth achieve a 70% increase in their confidence and self-esteem? A small donation of $50 can provide a youth with some basic life skills that they can take with them into adulthood. This year they aim to raise $150,000—it’s a big goal that will allow them to continue serving our
community in big ways, and helping local youth gain confidence, social skills, resiliency, and hope. Supporting The Spark Campaign means supporting local kids and families at a time when they need it most. Please consider giving to Partners to help reach their 2021 fundraising goal. Donate Now! You can also help by igniting the spark in others. Help share the amazing work Partners does. Ways to help:
MBD Marketing & Events is passionate about our work with nonprofits, and we are happy to announce that our client Partners’ first-ever NoCo Grocery Grab was a big hit! On April 30, MBD Marketing & Events brought TV’s “Supermarket Sweep” energy to Fort Collins’ Lucky’s Market, where winners of a month-long raffle won a shopping spree of $500, $750, or $1,000 in groceries. Camera crews were on hand to capture every moment, which will be revealed at a virtual watch party Wednesday, May 19. You might be wondering what went on behind the scenes planning Partners’ big Spring fundraising event this year… After uncertainty surrounding Partners’ traditional St. Patrick’s Day 5K race this year – the fully-planned event was cancelled last minute due to COVID-19 last year – Partners needed a creative, alternate fundraising event. We designed this unique, COVID-friendly event to raise money for Partners and further their community involvement. After weeks of applications and waiting on our end, Partners received a raffle license through the state, and the event was on. We partnered with iHeart Radio and The VIA Company for production and promotions, including emcee and video production services during the event. Our MBD team (with plenty of coffee in our systems), radio hosts, and raffle winners arrived at Lucky’s Market bright and early April 30, and each winning couple had the store all to themselves as they attempted to “spend” their winnings within a set timeframe. Volunteers completely reset the store between each round, so every raffle winner had a fresh shopping experience. Partners, MBD Marketing & Events, Lucky’s Market, iHeart Radio, and The VIA Company collaborated on this event and were instrumental in securing this year’s spring funding for Partners’ work in our NoCo community. Please join Partners for a virtual NoCo Grocery Grab premiere watch party Wednesday, May 19th at 6:30pm, here. Contact MBD Marketing & Events Small Business. Big Impact. We know everyone is looking for hope and we would love to give it. While we are event experts, we are not health experts or fortune tellers. Here is what we can tell you: We cannot predict how the current global pandemic will play out. The best we can do if follow current government guidelines and plan ahead with no less than 3 plans in place for events. (Plan A, B and C) All of our events in the past year have included hybrid elements to allow for participation remotely for the sake of safety. Come summer 2021, we hope that there will be more opportunity to gather traditionally. We do not anticipate that events will be back to 'normal' this summer. We plan on delivering events with the assumption that there is a 'new normal'. This means: outdoors as much as possible, including square footage calculators as part of our planning metrics, social distancing requirements, PPE supplies, COVID waivers, fewer elements that involve touch, and hybrid elements. We remain hopeful, but cautious. Now is the time where our creativity and ingenuity shines. We LOVE supporting businesses, non-profits and YOU and your life events. Can we have events? YES! How? Leave the careful planning to us! Contact MBD Marketing & Events

https://www.pinterest.com/MyBigDayEvents/education-k-12/ My Big Day was proud to be asked to help pull together a new way to pull off a historic event in Old Town Fort Collins, the Realities for Children NightLights Tree Lighting. A 23 year old tradition embraced by the community, we knew that COVID was going to make re-inventing this loved event quite a challenge. With the help of many community partners, we were able to pull of a spectacular Live Stream of the NightLights tree lighting, with thousands of live viewers and impressive donations to this deserving charity serving Northern Colorado. If you aren't familiar with Realities for Children, you should be. Realities For Children provides for the unmet needs of northern Colorado children who have been abused, neglected or are at-risk. We do this by providing emergency funding, youth activities, critical distributions and collaboration resources for our Partner Youth Agencies. Realities For Children was incorporated in 1995 and has been funding the unmet needs of Larimer County children who have been abused, neglected or are at-risk since 1996. Currently, Realities For Children supports the services of 39 Partner Youth Agencies and represents nearly 250 Business Members invested in making it their business to make a difference. The many amazing businesses and talented folks who made this fundraiser possible include:

My Big Day has been proud to support this amazing non-profit and help lead their fundraising efforts! If you’re familiar with The Family Center/La Familia, you know our goal in an average year is to raise at least $50,000 for families. This year has not been an average year. The needs of our community are greater than ever. Larimer County’s childcare assistance program has now been closed for three years due to lack of funding. And, if you received our Play it Forward 2020 letter, you know the pandemic has not slowed us down - in fact, it has only increased the needs of families in our community. Here are some of TFC’s 2020 achievements so far, by the numbers:
Our goal for this year’s Play it Forward event is to raise $80,000. Here are some examples of how far your donation can go:
Did you know that your donations to TFC/La Familia also qualify for Colorado’s Child Care Contribution Tax Credit? This means that 50% of your income comes right off your taxable income. If you donate $100 to our Play it Forward campaign, your net out-of-pocket cost is just $50 - for a $200 donation after donor matching.
You can donate to Play it Forward easily online HERE. Thank you to our vibrant community for another year of support. We couldn’t operate The Family Center/La Familia without you. The My Big Day Marketing & Events team was thrilled to help The Humphrey's host their private event for the Cattle Baron's Ball for The American Cancer Society. Here are some of our favorite photos from the night. It was such a pleasure to work with Food for Thought Catering, On The Rocks CO (mobile bar), Flexx Productions and the lovely team at ACS!

The Family Center/La Familia is an agency that is a vital resource in our community. We are proud to be their trusted partner in 3 core areas: Events, Marketing and Development. As part of our development focus, we launched their "GROW" campaign, which is an effort to grow their monthly, continuous donors. This is the best way for a non-profit to predict what resources they can offer based on projected donations. With the help of a couple strong community partners, our campaign has received $30,000 in just the first month as a way to kick-start our lofty $100,000 goal. Below is the public statement made about this initiative. Over the course of three months, Fort Collins Foothills Rotary helped raise $93,000 to benefit six local organizations who are directly serving families impacted by the pandemic: Food Bank, Rescue Mission, Neighbor to Neighbor, La Familia/The Family Center, Teaching Tree, and Putnam Elementary. This was in cooperation with each organization's fundraising efforts and partnering with Community Foundation of Northern Colorado. We are SO thankful for the heart Foothills Rotary Club of Fort Collins has for Early Childhood Education. Their 10k donation was a great kick-off to our GROW campaign, and a 20k donation from the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado is such a blessing. We are filled with gratitude! "With the generous contribution made by the Foothills Rotary Club of Fort Collins and the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado we will make the required concrete leveling of the preschool playground and install a long lasting and secure fence around it. This work has been desired for a long time and thanks to this funding it will be possible!" -Gloria Kat, Executive Director & Family Support Services Director If you are able to give a little extra, we encourage you to support The Family Center/La Familia. Their GROW Campaign can be found HERE.
