This year we are taking a brief hiatus, as the owner of My Big Day will be 9 months pregnant on New Years Eve. While we could still host an AMAZING party for everyone, we also have a very large wedding that same day...and want to be sure we offer the quality service and focus we pride ourselves on. Even though we won't be hosting our huge annual party in 2015, we wanted to provide our loyal party attendees with some options in Northern Colorado to hold you over until 2016!

We never really grow up. We only learn how to act in public. If we don’t do wild things when we are young, we’d never have anything to smile about when we get older. One of our favorite quotes is “You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream” – C.S. Lewis. Though we may age physically our hearts still feel our youth. Life today is all about being on the go, move quicker or talk faster. We don’t make much time to slow down and enjoy the moment. Next time your day is getting ahead of you take a moment to stop and do something spontaneous and fun.  Text silly faces to someone, go to that concert you feel like passing up because you have to work in the morning. Let a stranger tell you a funny joke. Take a moment to look in the paper or online and see what is happening around you instead of being rushed through the day. You never know who you might meet or what great moment could be passing you by. Silliness and spontaneity keep us as young as we ever were or hoped to be. Being young at heart is what keeps everyday new and filled with surprises. Life won’t ever get dull if you hold onto your youth. The rising trend in DIY currently is Pinterest parties. Women are getting together bringing supplies and having what’s called 'Make Days' aka Pinterest parties. They are making their own crafts, beauty products, and health remedies. This is such a fun and creative way to get together or get to know someone. This is also great for kiddos and keeping them entertained at parties. DIY kids’ parties have become very popular as well. They can make their own chalks or toys even costumes to use at the party immediately. Kids and parents alike are loving this. It is such a fun way to teach lessons and creativity.  Easy Steps to Host a Pinterst Party:
You and your friends create a group craft board on Pinterest, where everyone adds pins of crafts they'd like to make. You can do this part one of two ways... OPTION 1: The host picks one or two simple crafts off of the group board and purchases the supplies so everyone can make them during the party. OPTION 2: Each guest picks a craft off of the board she'd like to make, and brings enough supplies for 4 guests, including herself. Names are pulled out of a hat to decide which craft goes with which guest. By the end of the evening, every guest gets to make 4 crafts. **Remind your guests that the crafts they choose should not take more than a half hour to complete, or you'll be there all night. :) FOOD Make the party a "Pinterest potluck" and asks your guest to bring a dish they found on Pinterest. Three Loveland-based, female owned businesses have created My Big Date, a tasty escape to the Sweetheart City. “Loveland has been a destination for art lovers for many years, but we want people to realize that the town is the perfect Valentine’s Day destination,” said Christine Kovacs Forster, founder of My Big Day Events, LLC, an event planning company in Loveland. Last year, Ms. Forster, Mechelle Martz-Mayfield, owner of NOCO Short Bus Tours, LLC, a brewery tour service, and Heidi Kerr-Schlaefer, founder of HeidiTown.com, the place for Colorado festival and travel stories, came together to create My Big Date. There are two packages available this year, and space is limited. The Brunch & Brew package is available on February 14 and 15, 2014. This package includes a coffee tasting at Loco Artisan Coffeehouse, a beer and brunch pairing at Loveland Aleworks and a beer tasting paired with B. Sweet Cupcakes at Crow Hop Brewing Transportation between venues will be provided by NOCO Short Bus Tours, LLC. The second package is a Brewery & Spirits Tour available on February 14, 2014, only. This includes a tour and tasting at Spring 44 Distillery, a tasting flight at Crow Hop Brewing, a tasting flight at Loveland Aleworks and a stop at B. Sweet Cupcakes for a treat. Transportation between venues will be provided by NOCO Short Bus Tours, LLC. Both packages include time for guests to stroll through Loveland’s Fire & Ice winter festival that takes place annually in downtown Loveland over Valentine’s Day weekend. “My Big Date is a great way to introduce people to Loveland,” said Martz-Mayfield. “It’s an introduction to our active brewery scene, our distillery scene and an opportunity to show off downtown.” All 42 participants will receive a gift bag filled with Loveland swag, such as coupons, beer tokens, chocolate and more. In addition, each couple will also receive the book entitled, “14 Days of Foreplay,” by marriage and family therapist, Monica L. Lieser. “My hope is that these two packages will entice people across the Front Range to come experience Loveland this Valentine’s Day.
